Borislav Mitkov describes what art means to him as a big game of Pong: creating, sharing, learning, improving, creating again and sharing again. Borislav is a Bulgarian illustrator and concept artist with over 10 years of experience in the game industry. Under Ubisoft, he has worked on popular titles such as Tom Clancy’s H.A.W.X., the Prince of Persia series, and 4 Assassin’s Creed games: Liberation, Rogue, Black Flag, and Syndicate. Though much of his work is done digitally, Borislav says nothing can replace the feeling of pen on paper and that he often carries a small sketchbook.

For Borislav, nature is a place to center himself and find solitude, happiness and, of course, inspiration. He says that through art, his goal is to become a better person—and maybe inspire the person on the other end of the “Pong” game to do the same.

“Dad, dad, please paint a penguin!͟– how can I say ͞No. It was their choice, because kids love penguins, and monkeys, and birds, and everything. They have hearts, we must learn from them.” - Borislav Mitkov
